A single chip microcontroller is called AVR Micro Controller. This was developed originally in the year 1996. This is one of the earliest user types of on-chip flash memory for program storage as against ROM, EPROM or EEPROM microcontrollers.


The AVR Micro Controller is again a modified architecture device where program and data are stored in separate physical memory systems. These systems appear in different spaces. AVR Micro Controllers are classified as tinyAVR, megaAVR & XMEGA series
